
Sean Nos Weekend
O’Connor’s host a Sean nos Dancing and Traditional Music weekend–October bank holiday weekend. Sean Nos dancing is an older style of traditional solo Irish dance which originated in Connemara, similar to tap dance. It is rhythmic, impromptu and accompanies lively traditional music.


Traditional Music Nightly
Gus O’Connor’s pub located in Fisher Street, Doolin is one of the best-known traditional music pubs in Ireland. Local stalwarts Micho, Packie and Gussie Russell who played in O’Connor’s were instrumental in establishing its renowned music tradition. Today many great local musicians play in O’Connor’s including Christy Barry flute player who is a recent recipient of a Doolin Life Time Achievement award. Music in O’Connor’s hosts both spontaneous and planned sessions. Visitors from all over the world are amazed to find a place where genuine traditional musicians play living music that was rooted in the community. O’Connor’s pub provides a veritable mecca for fans of traditional music from all over the world and has established itself an international reputation unequalled anywhere in Ireland. The Russell Memorial Weekend
The Russell Memorial Weekend (last weekend February) established in 1995 is a remembrance ceremony to Micho, Packie and Gussies Russell. O’Connor’s hosts a feast of traditional music throughout this weekend showcasing the best of local and visiting musicians. O’Connor’s present workshops throughout the weekend by top local musicians (www.michorussellweekend.ie).
